What is Niagara Educon: Virtual Edition?

Niagara EduCon: Virtual Edition is an online version of the Niagara EduCon experience – designed to bring the excitement of pop culture and comic con learning directly to students through a live digital event.

In simple terms, it’s a virtual educational event that blends movies, animation and storytelling with interactive learning – all streamed online instead of taking place in person.

What it is:

• A live-streamed educational experience for students
• Combines pop culture + education (like a Comic Con for learning)
• Focused on creativity, critical thinking, and engagement

What you can expect:

• Virtual guest speakers and industry professionals, including Alyson Court (the Big Comfy Couch) and Steve Whitmire (the voice and puppeteer behind Kermit the Frog)
• Online demonstrations, activities, and exhibits
• Opportunities to learn directly from people behind popular characters and media

Niagara EduCon: Virtual Edition takes the core idea of EduCon – hands-on, fun, immersive learning inspired by pop culture – and delivers it in a fully online format that schools and students can join from anywhere.

A pop culture celebration!

EduCon isn’t your typical class trip – it’s a high-energy, fully online adventure where the electrifying world of pop culture collides with the power of education, creating an unforgettable experience that inspires, engages, and brings learning to life!
